BIOGRAPHICAL

Biography/autobiography are written accounts of the lives of people. Two types of biography ae authentic biography, in which all elements within the writing are able to be documented, and fictionalized biography.

"In biography, depth and detail of characterization hold center stage; in marked contrast to fiction, which may skimp on characterization in the interests of plot, the subject's feelings, behavior, speech, and inner turmoil are often of more interest than the action." (Saltman, The Riverside Anthology of Children's Literature, p.950)
